The Georgia Association of Law Enforcement Chaplains (GALEC) is an organization of Emergency Services Chaplains who serve and support the First Responder communities of the State of Georgia.

Serving Those Who Serve
We are men and women of faith who volunteer our time, talents, and energy to support law enforcement and first responder communities across Georgia through GALEC and the state’s public safety initiatives.
In partnership with the Georgia Association of Chiefs of Police, GALEC offers training and resources for individuals looking to establish or enhance Chaplaincy programs within their local agencies.
GALEC provides the BASIC training required for Chaplain Certification, along with ADVANCED courses to maintain it. These programs equip Chaplains with the knowledge and skills needed to run effective and well-informed Chaplaincy services within their departments.

Chaplain’s Training Conference
Plans are underway for the 21st Annual GALEC Chaplain’s Training Conference. The conference will offer both the Basic Chaplains Training for those who have not yet completed the initial course, and Advanced Training for those who have. Although P.O.S.T. no longer certifies chaplains, GALEC certifies the training, and individual chiefs are now responsible for certifying their own chaplains.
The conference will be held August 11–14, 2025, at the Byron Police Department in Byron, GA. Basic training is August 11–14, while Advanced training takes place August 12–14. Attendees are responsible for their own lodging and meals, except for lunch and snacks provided during training days. Registration will open from 7:00 to 7:45 a.m. on the 11th or 12th, depending on the training track.
